Last week we met at Gaige’s house to create a final product. Over all, there wasn’t much we could improve on. We mainly focused on little details that would contribute the most to the quality of the video. Like we said before, we want this to look professional. Finally, we exported the video and sent it to our phones. Once we finished editing and critiquing the video, we took it to Gaige’s parents to listen to. They said that the video had good quality, but the music was way too loud compared to the instrumental music. With this feedback, we went and fixed the editing on our music. Once we did this we showed it to our piers for their feedback. Although the music video may not be as professional as we would like it to be, we have received good feedback. Genius hour was intended for us to try something new. Our objective was to make a song and music video. Although we did do this, we have gotten much more out of this than expected. We have created a new bond with each other. We all were friends before this project, but now we have learned so much more about each other, and how each person is unique in their own way and can contribute to different aspects of the project. We’re probably going to look back at our project in the future and laugh. It was extremely fun to make something like this. Watching us grow together as friends was also really cool. We all love each other and love what we created. We’re really excited to show the class what we’ve come up with. We’re fully prepared to answer any questions about the process of creating the production. We plan on presenting information about the song in front of the before we play the video. After that, we’re going to answer any questions.

Over the last week, we managed to finish all of our filming, thanks to the day of we had on Wednesday this week. We had places planned for our filming but we were not able to record with the cars at Gaige's work. luckily it was a sunny and warm day out to film all of the other locations. we had to bring someone along to help film because we realized that we may need a scene of the three of us, thankfully, we had a friend that was not busy at the time. We didn't exactly get the whole day to film due to work and other plans that the 3 of us had. Rather than editing on a pc program, we have decided to just go with imovie on the iPhone, we chose to do this due to the mobility and efficiency. We are currently waiting for Gaige to get his phone back in order for us to edit, his phone had been broken for a couple weeks so he had to send it in. Once his phone comes back in we will start editing and hopefully finish just in time for the due date. all of us are more than excited to put this all together, even if it doesn't come out just how we want it, it has allowed us to be somewhat creative and made us all realize who not to work with on projects! Towards the last few weeks of this project, we came up with a completely different and better idea, but it was too late to change so maybe if we ever get another project like this then we will use that idea. our end goal now is to get the phone back and find a day where at least 2 of us can be together to finish the editing. Maybe this upcoming weekend we can pull a day off and knock it out.Last week we started to record the music video. It was harder than we thought it would be. Every week we have to plan when we can meet because all three of us are always busy. Not only is time an issue, but the weather is an issue. When it’s rainy all week and rainy the day we meet, it causes problems. We don’t want the video to look bad, but the rain makes everything gloomy. Also, we don’t want to get all of our cameras wet. We have decided to try and figure out some places inside that we could film in, but it also has to have good lighting and not be busy. This weekend we are all in town, but Sunday is also Easter. We have decided that Saturday will be the best day to meet for all of us. The only problem with Saturday, is that it is supposed to rain. We are hoping that it won’t rain that much, and that it won’t rain all day. We are planning to finish our filming, but if the weather won’t permit, then we will edit what we already have. If we can not finish this week, then we will be able to finish next week. The good thing is that we are almost done with the film. We are trying to see if we can record at Gaige’s work, because they have exotic cars. The cars would really add a lot to the video. It will look more like an actual produced music video. The hardest thing for our group is staying on task. It is our biggest problem because as mentioned before Gaige and Josh have ADHD, which means they already get sidetracked. Not only the ADHD, but just being friends causes us to get off topic. So it would only take at most about two hours, but it takes us like four hours. This will be the last time we will film, if it is enough and it all looks good. That way the next few weeks that we have to finish we can spend editing the music video and music itself together.
This week we filmed our needed clips. After sort of story boarding and planning. Due to the weather this week, we had a few issues with planning and filming, along with work and other school assignments going on with all three of us. Once we were finally able to get together and pull everything to where it needed to be, things went smoothly, other than using a lot of gas to drive around to different spots. We attempted to get ahead of the game and jump straight to editing as much as we could, but we were halted when we each had other plans and priorities this week. For next week we plan to knock out our editing and rendering of the video, this should ultimately be our last step, under the case that we don't finish it next week then we at least have some more time to knock it out. The known problems with our group are due to us being Friends, it allows us to be comfortable and okay with throwing out any ideas that may seem stupid but it still persists to get us off of task. especially with Gaige and josh having ADHD and constantly having to move and think about other things, it definitely comes to throw us off of the rails. We have yet to really come to a conclusion on this problem, we don't exactly see it as the worst thing in the world and we are technically ahead of schedule. The anticipation is definitely building when days keep coming closer and closer to due date, we want things to be as good as we can possibly have them. Due to this, we all have this bit of OCD and perfectionists mindset, leading us to bump heads at times, but we know that its just to make our project and suitable as it can be.
Last week we met at Gaige’s house to think of all of the items we would need to put together this production. After discussing, we decided we would need to put together outfits, download software for editing the production and try to record with the time we had left over.
We started with the outfits. We drove around to stores like Goodwill and looked for nice clothes. After looking we decided that since we’re on a low budget, we are going to use our own clothes. We looked up outfits that would resemble what we’re looking for. After we decided what style we wanted, we each put together something we would wear in our video. After we had our outfits together, we decided to run Sony Vegas Pro for our videos. Gaige knows a lot about this program and will be doing most of the editing. He will put all the videos we recorded into Vegas Pro and mute all the sound except our recorded lyrics. Until then, were going to to try learn more about the software to maximize the potential our video will have. Once we had our outfits and software ready, we needed to find somewhere to record. We started looking for places on Apple maps and found Winston-Salem and Mocksville were going to give us the best background for our video. We started recording a little in Mocksville last week. We’re going to try to record more and focus on the quality of the production next. We never got a chance to record anything this week. We tried to fit it into our schedule but we didn’t want to rush the production. We don’t want to limit the potential of our video by rushing it. Everyone thought it would be best if we waited until next time. Overall, I think this was one of our most successful weekends. We had little to no errors during our time together. With our clothes and outfits, the only problem was keeping our budget low. Our software is perfect, we just need to learn all of it capabilities. And we found some really cool places to record. We’re all extremely excited to show you what we have. We think you’re going to be surprised with what we’ve come up with. |
